Emily Elliott photographer based largely in the south of England, especially Portsmouth, and studied Photography  BA(hons) at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham completing her degree in 2019 gaining a 2:1. . Elliotts work mainly consists of portraits and she has an interest in many other areas including product photography. With a main interest in portraits she likes to explore the person she is photographing by establishing a connection with her subject bu taking the time to get to know them.
Having explored Self- Portraiture in her recent work Elliott wants to go back to her specialism  in portraiture as taking the time to stop and turn the lens on herself changed the way that she sees shooting others.
Shooting on both Digital and analogue formats Elliott selects the medium the she feels best suits the work and shoots both in the studio and on locations.

Elliott as a child was always surrounded by photography, her father is an keen amature photographer and he documented Elliott and her sister growing up in a more artistic way then her mother who photographed them growing up in a typical snapshot way. It was her father's interest that got Elliott interested in photography, always having a camera around and the idea of making a moment still caught her attention. One of the first time Elliott picked up one of her father's cameras a Canon AE-1 Program, she dropped it and broke part of the camera she now uses this same camera today - fixed of course. She was then given her own basic camera to use where she could take her own pictures.
It wasn't until she saw the work of David Bailey that she decided that photography was something that she wanted to pursue as a career.  Taking portraits became a favourite and most comfortable style of photography as she enjoys capturing the person as well as their personality.
